I am continuously looking for graduate students to hire to work on research projects in computer
vision, probabilistic reasoning using Bayesian networks for information fusion and decision making under

uncertainty, and pattern recognition. A successful completion of this project will lead to a Ph. D degree in

Electrical or Computer Engineering and the authorship of several journal and conference papers.

The positions are available until they are filled.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Serious, dedicated, hardworking, and eager to learn more
2) Interested in computer vision, probabilistic reasoning, and pattern recognition research
3) Interested in pursuing a Ph.D degree in computer vision, probabilistic reasoning, and related research
4) Good programming skills in C or C++

Desired Qualifications:

1) A M.S. degree in computer science, EE, or a related field
2) Prior background and experiences in computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, and related research
3) Excellent programming skills in C or C++
4) Good mathematical and statistical background
5) Excellent English, especially written English
6) Creative and capable of independent study and thinking

Benefits:

For those of you who do not have prior experience or a Master degree in a related field,
I encourage you to take my courses so that we can get to know each other better.

Please note:

I am looking for intelligent, dedicated, highly motivated, and hard working Ph.D students with good work ethics,
who are willing to commit 3-4 years to perform research with me in the areas of computer vision, probabilistic
reasoning, and pattern recognition. The most important qualities I look for, outside of the academic credentials,
are perseverance and work ethics. Highly motivated, stay focused, and perseverant are key personal attributes to
success. Good moral values and work ethics is also essential to one's professional development.

It requires dedication and hard work to obtain a Ph.D from the ECSE department at RPI. So be prepared to
work hard if you choose to come. For those students who plan to change research areas/advisors or even schools
after arrival, I advise you not even think  about working with me since
it will cause tremendous loss and difficulty to both of us.
