Adding Images and the Initial Proofing Stage
Adding Graphics
If your graphics links are done
correctly, simply placing the GIFs in the appropriate sub-directory will enable them.
Use a text editor for search and replace and to fix small errors
Good Editors - DOS Edit, VI, X-Edit, EMACS, ELVIS
In VI, use %s/< OLDSTRING> /< NEWSTRING> / as a global search and replace
Test the loading speed
of screens with heavy graphics.
Proofing
Examine all GIFs and load all referenced graphics
Examine how graphics affect the layout of the document. Are columns still lined up correctly?
Is the document loading fast enough?
Are all the graphics named correctly?
Do the pictures match what they are supposed to represent?
Keep in Mind:
Consider using
referenced GIFs if loading time is too slow
Are the Pictures clear and concise?
Do the graphics add to the document, or are they a distraction from the information therein?
Keep your document clean and orderly, not cluttered with pictures and graphics.
