HTML Document Conversion: Converting Text using Word for Windows

Resizing Text

The First major step is to set the font type to one that closely, if not perfectly, matches standard, fixed-width ascii. The most widely supported font of this type is Courrier with a size of 13 pts. This font is very close to fixed-width ascii, but not perfect.

Essentially, if you save the screen as text, with the Courrier 13 font, and then display the text in a standard text editor, you will retain almost all of the layout. The conversion process is easy. Simply click on EDIT and then Select All. Now, the entire document will be selected. Click on the Fonts box, select Courrier, then the Size box and Type In 13.

The computer will re-format all the text. This will probably throw lots of tables and columns out of alignment.
