Fall Special Topics Courses

  • ECSE-496x Digital Signal Processing

For Fall 2009, we will offer ECSE-496x Digital Signal Processing in place of ECSE-4510 Discrete Time Systems. This DSP course will expand on the signal processing topics currently in DTS but will not cover the control part. Instead, it will include more advanced topics in DSP. This DSP course can be used in place of DTS as a pre-requisite for ECSE-4540 Introduction to Image Processing and ECSE-4760 Real-Time Applications in Control and Communications. ECSE-4510 DTS will be offered in the spring with an increased emphasis on digital control and less emphasis on signal processing. Students can get credit for both classes. If a student is mostly interested in DTS for the control part, it may be better to wait until the spring to take DTS rather than the fall DSP course.
