John R. Smith, now a freshman, comes to Rensselaer from Tucson, Arizona. He
has been selected to take part in the CenSSIS, more specifically the CenSSIS
museum project at a local children's museum in Troy, as he pursues a degree
in Biomedical Engineering while completing pre-medical studies. John is an
Eagle Scout, a Rensselaer Medal winner, and is the receipt of a four-year Type
1 Air Force ROTC scholarship. Back in Tucson, John is employed at a local carnival
supply and volunteers at nursing home near his house; his hobbies including
backpacking and weight lifting.
