Chapter Projects
Our Chapter sponsors a number of projects each year. Some are recurring or ongoing, and some are unique to their particular semester.
Continuing projects include the annual presentation of the Outstanding TA and Professor Awards, maintaining an online resume book, and organizing the ECSE Mixer.
In August of 2008, we hosted, in conjunction with the Office of the First-Year Experience (FYE), an interactive electronics for incoming freshmen as part of the Navigating Rensselaer and Beyond (NRB) program.
Participants were challenged to design, build, and implement machines capable of navigating mazes using LEGOŽ Mindstorms kits.
As part of the pledge process, each pledge is assigned a Pledge Project, which must be completed prior to the Induction Ceremony. Specifics vary, but these projects often focus on some aspect of departmental or
community service.
The Executive Board welcomes suggestions for new projects and is happy to consider funding and other support for active members' ideas. If you have an idea for a project, feel free to contact any of the Chapter Officers.
