RPI IEEE

With over 370,000 members worldwide, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. is the largest technical professional organization in the world. Commonly referred to as the IEEE (eye-triple-e), the Institute provides a wide range of services to the electrical engineering and computer science community.

• IEEE 802.3 -- Ethernet
• IEEE 802.11 -- WiFi
• IEEE 802.15.1 -- Bluetooth
• IEEE 1003 -- POSIX

Founded in 1824, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the oldest technical instution in the english speaking world. Historically its alumni have been instrumental in the engineering community and the world at large.
