These dedicated scientists listed below are the
founding members of the Center for Broadband
Data Transport Science and Technology. The approximately 20 members are
university professors and industrial researchers with expertise in
information technology, ranging from fabrication of compound
semiconductor devices to Internet traffic management.
Participants are graduates of some of the world's
finest institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
the University of California
at Berkeley, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical Institute, and the Indian
Institute of Technology. Many have current or previous experience in
prestigious industrial laboratories, such as the IBM
Thomas J. Watson
Research Center,
AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Exxon Corporate Research Laboratories.
Members also are active members of prominent scholarly organizations such
as the Materials Research Society and the American Physical Society.
Center membership continues to rise, and eventually may
include about 50 participants.
