Mount Greylock Expeditionairy Farce unofficial report

Well, after an excellent effort on our part this weekend from Mt. Greylock in Mass., it appears that we won the September VHF contest. I don't have the specific numbers, but I believe our score was about 0.75 million (band conditions were lousy) with our closest competition, W3ZZ, at 0.68 million.

For those who don't know about what we do in a vhf contest, ask me some time :). Here is the summary of what we run for equipment and approximate power levels:

50 Mhz : "Kilowatt and four yagis"
144 Mhz : "1.5 Kilowatts and four yagis"
220 Mhz : "1.5 Kilowatts and four yagis"
432 Mhz : "Kilowatt and four yagis"
903 Mhz : "300 W and a 6 foot dish"
1296 Mhz: "100 W and a 6 foot dish"
2304 Mhz: "25 W (?) and a 6 foot dish"
3456 Mhz: "25 W (?) and a 6 foot dish"
5760 Mhz: "5 W (?) and a 6 foot dish"
10368 Mhz: "50 W and a 6 foot dish, 100 mW and a 3 foot dish (FM)"
24xxx MHZ: "50 mW and a 2 foot dish (FM)"

all this stuff gets put on 9 40-50 foot towers that get put up and taken down over a 4 day period! See the home page done by Joel for a color GIF of the operation.

Sound interesting? Get involved !
