Installing Microsoft Campus Licensed Software
Windows Operating System (server is not part of the agreement) & Office
The RPI Microsoft campus license agreement states that participating members of the agreement have access to Microsoft software. It clearly stipulates that media is not to be distributed to participants. The agreement is for access to the software, which DotCIO provides in a couple of ways. The most popular way to install Office or Windows is through your department System Administrator. They are given the software to install on department owned equipment. You also have the option to bring your computer to the VCC and they can help.
So if you are looking to re-image a computer, update the OS or Office, please make an appointment with your department System Administrator. They will install the software for you. Please do not ask them for a copy of the software to do it yourself, they are not authorized to do so and this violates the Campus License Agreement.
Please note that Windows Server is not included in the Campus License Agreement. If you need Server, you will need to purchase the license and media through the RPI Collegiate Store.
