Professor Schubert Research
In the Semiconductor Devices Research Laboratory, directed by Professor E. Fred Schubert, we conduct research on semiconductor materials and devices. Materials research includes, for example, the doping of semiconductors, the radiative efficiency of lightLemitting active regions, and the antiLreflective properties of thinLfilm coatings. Device research includes, for example, the characteristics of lightLemitting diodes and laser diodes, strategies for efficient light extraction, and the efficiency of photovoltaic solar cells. Analysis methods employed in the Semiconductor Devices Research Laboratory include experimental techniques, analytic theoretical techniques, as well as numerical simulation techniques.
