In
June 1999, I received my bachelor degree from Electrical
Engineering Department of Tsinghua University in Beijing, P.R.China. I also received my master degree from
Electrical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University in Jan. 2002. My
advisor in my Alma Mater is Professor Kexiong
Tan. After graduation, I worked in Shanghai Baosight Software
Co. Ltd as an automation engineer for 3.5 years. To pursue my
PhD degree, I joined the ECSE Department at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in
August 2005 and did research under the supervision of Professor
Qiang Ji. My
research interest is focused on machine learning, computer visin, pattern recognition and image processing,
especially on probabilistic graphical models (PGMs) such as Markov Random
Fields, Conditional Random Fields, Bayesian Network, Dynamic Bayesian
Network, Chain Graph, Factor Graph, Hybrid Probabilistic Graphical Models
and their application to computer vision and image analysis problems,
including image and video segmentation, human upper body tracking, active
image labeling, complex human activity recognition, sensor fusion,
affective computing, terrain classification, visual knowledge discovery,
etc.
