Install Netscape on a PC with an Ethernet card

You need a copy of trumpet winsock and the netscape program itself to run netscape on a PC. You can configure trumpet winsock to emulate a SLIP connection (if you are dialing to internet) or to act like a packet driver (if you are connected to internet via an ethernet card). Trumpet winsock can be downloaded from any ftp site. Install it in the directory c:\trumpet. More specifically, the directory c:\trumpet should have the following files: tcpman.exe winsock.dll winpkt.com hosts services protocol I think the last three are not absolutely necessary. You need to add c:\trumpet to your path in the autoexec.bat file. Remember, that the NCSA telnet for PCs seizes the ethernet driver so you can't run Netscape and Telnet simultaneously. You will need a better application.
