I received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2002 and 2004. During 2007-2010 I was with Columbia University where I received the M.A. degree in Statistics and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering. During 2010-2012 I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University. My research interests include mathematical statistics, network information theory, estimation & detection theory, and signal processing with applications in wireless communications, complex networks, and power grids. I am a senior member of the IEEE and received an NSF CAREER award in 2016.
I currently serve as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications and the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, and as the Guest Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid -- Special Issue on the Theory of Complex Systems with Applications to Smart Grid Operations.
